④ 初二期中考試英語怎麼復習
有一個記英語單詞的8字小秘訣要告訴大家，這8個字是：
形近義近，音近義通。
就是說，字形或讀音相近的詞，很可能同源。這是咱們老祖先研究古漢語時得出的結論。
漢語的例子：少：「微小」
眇：眼睛小
妙：人幼小，年少（如妙齡）
杪：樹梢
秒：本指禾的尖小末端
紗：絲之微也。
英語的例子：dr-,gr-,tr-,scr- 「抓」

這種相通如果簡化成數學公式就是：

用這個公式套一下，下面的單詞發音和詞形相近，所以詞義相通的，都表示「高」或「長高」。

英語是全世界拼寫和讀音最不規則的語言，在一定程度上可以說英語不屬於拼音文字的范疇，多個字母或字母組合發同一個音，反過來同一個音可以由多個字母或字母組合發。如字母A可以發多達八個音，TH組合發三個音如其中Thailand、Thyme、Thames等單詞發不規則的/t/音，ough字母組合共有九種發音方式，這九種發音的代表單詞是：①though （雖然） ②thought （思惟，想法，思想，思潮） ③enough, rough （足 ，粗 糙 的，使不平）④ thorough （徹底的，完全的，十足的）⑤ cough （咳嗽） ⑥through （穿過，通過，從 …開始至終）⑦ hiccough （打嗝)⑧ plough （耕作，皺眉） ⑨lough （湖）如有一個句子：Though the rough cough and hiccough plough me through, I ought to cross the lough.在這個句子中同一個字母組合ough，竟然會有八種不同的發音這八個音分別是分別是①[o ]②[[∧f] ③[)f] ④[∧p] ⑤[ au] ⑥[u] ⑦[)] ⑧[ax]
不發音的字母特別多，如debt、Comb、ptarmigan、viscount、island、hour、indict等單詞都有不發音的字母。
拼寫完全混亂無規可循的單詞也很多Czech、Cello、Cafe、One、mnemonic、maugham、Vaughan、chalet、debut等單詞不靠音標根本不知道怎樣發音.
英語的重音應該放在哪個音節上也沒有固定規則，非重讀音節中的母音經常弱化變音，另本來已經混亂的拼寫變得更加混亂，更可怕的是如果單詞或短語的重音讀錯或說錯，那就意味著詞性、詞義的改變，從而產生意義上的誤解。
除了拼寫不規則和重音不固定外，英語單詞還分為強讀式和弱讀式，另到本來已經拼寫混亂的英語，要從它的拼寫上掌握它的正確發音變得沒有可能，這就是為什麼中國出現大量聾啞英語的原因，如英語的弱讀式例句，can: /kæn/, 弱讀式I can go /ˈaɪ kŋ ɡoʊ/, and: /ænd/, 弱讀式you and me /ˌjuː ən ˈmiː/, he: /hiː/, 弱讀式will he go? /ˈwɪl ɪ goʊ/等等。
總結
由於英語的重音和英語的拼寫與發音沒有規則可循，再加上英語又分為強讀式和弱讀式，使得要從書面拼寫上掌握英語正確發音變成沒有可能的事，綜合上述拼寫混亂、重音不固定、不發音的字母特別多、分強讀式和弱讀式的原因，將來英語可能會失去世界通用語的霸主地位。
2）英語句子結構的特點
英語的句子結構比較簡單、自然，合乎邏輯思維的自然順序，也就是說，英語的詞序word order比較自然。英語不象德語或俄語，句子結構沒有那麼復雜，詞序沒有那麼多的倒裝現象(inversion)。英語的「語法」性別和「天然」性別相一致，不象俄語、拉丁語那樣把所有的名詞，按照「語法」性別，都分為陽性、陰性和中性。這樣，現代英語就免去了名詞和形容詞的復雜的格的變化，而德語和俄語仍大量地保存著這些變化。所以說，英語的第一個特點就是它的結構比較簡單，因此比較明白、易學。英語的第二個特點就是它的詞彙非常豐富，因此它的表達能力特別強。據估計，英語詞彙包括的單詞超過一百萬，居世界各語種的首位。英語的構詞手段也很多樣，因此英語不斷產生新詞。另外一個現象就是英語的詞義不斷發生變化，原有的詞也可以獲得新的詞義，而且這種詞義變化比較自然，顯得毫不費力。例如，sophisticated的原義為：「非常有經驗的，老練的，老於世故的」，它的基本詞義是「失去了單純性」。從這個基本詞義發展到「復雜的，精緻的」這一過程也是很自然的，不費氣力的。這樣，我們就可以用來修飾weapons，而得到「尖端武器」這個新的概念。這樣，原有的sophisticated一詞就變成兩個詞了，因為它獲得了完全不同的新詞義。此外．英語還有大量的短語動詞，由動詞加副詞構成。
