英語作文是學生英語學習的綜合素質體現，也是令好多即將參加高考的學生頭疼的一項任務。它要求學生有扎實的語言基本功如語法和詞彙量等，具備一定的審題能力、想像能力、表達能力、評價能力及書法排版能力。在教學中，教師要將這些能力的培養滲透到每一篇學生習作中去。只有平時嚴格的訓練才能在激烈的高考競爭中快速准確地完成書面表達的任務。針對考生平時在寫作訓練中存在的一些常見問題，筆者將談談今後在英語教學中如何指導學生在英語表達上獲得高分的幾點策略。
一、要有良好的心理素質。這是寫好英語作文的首要條件。如果學生還沒動手寫，就有這樣的一種心態：「英語作文好難啊，怎麼寫呢？」或者「那麼難寫，我肯定寫不好，隨便應付得了」，那麼他/她肯定寫不好文章。所以學生要沉得住氣，靜下心來，堅信自己不管是什麼題材都會盡最大的努力寫好作文，這樣才為寫好整篇作文打下良好的心理基礎。

三、要審好人稱。文章中人稱選擇恰當對表達文章的基本思想、描述事物及情節都很有幫助。應特別注意英文中人稱的陰陽是很容易被忽視的。比如有好多學生經常she和he不分。
四、要確定行文中即將用到的時態。有時全文都只需用同一種時態，但也有很多時候要用幾種，一篇文章如果多處出現謂語動詞的時態錯誤，就要降等給分。這就要求學生在審好體裁的基礎上學會靈活變通，正確使用因時態不同而不斷變換的動詞。
五、要突出要點。每篇文章都有它的要點，高考英語作文同樣也不例外。作文的得分點也集中在要點的發揮上。每篇作文一般都有4----6個要點，閱題時學生應該認真找出這些要點並列出相關的關鍵詞，這樣既能保證要點齊全又能節省時間。
六、要層次分明。根據不同的文章體裁，學生在行文中要注意如何才能做到層次分明，這樣才能讓讀者一目瞭然。比如記敘文大多數以人物活動、時間順序或事情發展過程為線索，說明文大多以時間空間為線索，議論文的寫作一般按先總後分或先分後總的順序。
七、妙用關聯詞、插入語和諺語等。學生在平時的學習當中，會學到很多關聯詞、插入語和諺語等。如果學生能夠在達到以上幾個要求的基礎上妙用它們，那麼文章一定會因此錦上添花，從而使得到高分作文不再是夢想。
總之，作文教學是英語教學中的重點和難點，正所謂「冰凍三尺非一日之寒」。得高分，並非一朝一夕能辦到的事情。學生只有在老師的指導下，牢記這些策略，刻苦訓練，多方積累知識和經驗，才能決勝高考。
